Album Notes
4 tha Streetz is the first studio album from the Bay Area supergroup The Professionals (also known as The Prafashanals and P World). The album features three core MCs—Young B., Lights Out (L.O.), and Relly Rell—and a range of guest stars. Album recording began days after DJ Sam Soul heard The Professionals playing their mixtape (Diego 2 Da Bay: Live in the Telly ) in a parking lot in Santa Cruz, California in early June of 2008. DJ Sam Soul and The Professionals began recording the next day. One song turned into three songs, and by the end of June 2008, an early version of 4 tha Streetz was on the streets. In July of 2008, The Professionals recorded another studio album Get a Bar Uh That!, and in August of 2008, they recorded Gassin.’ In early 2009, the group added a fourth member, Mac the Kat, and recorded a double-cd, 80s Baybez. This music is inspired by late rapper Lord Sidney Kwame Addo a.k.a. “Shotime” and dedicated to late producer Mario Aquas a.k.a. “Skillz.”4 tha Streetz features: exclusive tracks produced by CeZ Dejanero; engineering, recording, and live mixing by DJ Sam Soul; and mixing and mastering by CeZ Dejanero. It includes guest appearances by: Big Prophet; Young Kcaz; AWOL; CeZ Dejanero; Kenny Wayne; Rastan; and DJ Sam Soul.
