Album Notes
The Psychic Plowboys were formed by Dave Blair, Dan Hopper, and Ron Hale in the backroom of a skateboard shop in 1988 in Memphis TN. With various bass players, they have played in a lot of bars, drank a lot of beer, recorded a few songs, and got in a few fights. Over the years the Plowboys enjoyed and almost tragic-comic series of ups, downs, near misses, divorces, breakups, more bars, and more beers. After reforming in 1994, they recorded their first album, "Live at antenna club", which somehow lead to an award winning video, a tour of the Netherlands, still more one night stands, and still more beers. Only this time, the beers were European and everyone spoke Dutch.

Soon after their triumphant return to the USA, singer Dan Hopper and guitar player Dave Blair discussed their options and decided to split Memphis before anyone caught on to what was really going on.

By 2005 Dave Blair had reached a lofty position of instructor at ETSU, and Dan Hopper had reached a new low as the janitor at "Donna's Fantasy Ranch" a legal brothel outside Elko, NV. In 2006 Dave and Dan were lured back to Memphis for a Psychic Plowboys gig, set up by evil forces beyond their control. To their surprise, over 500 people showed up. Deciding that there may be something to this, Dan followed Dave back home to Bristol, TN because he needed money for cigarettes. Joining up with bass player Chris Cordell, the former Lt gov of TN, they recorded this, their 3rd album, "The Purple Flower of Hell County," Featuring the hit singles. "Wise up", and "Here Come The Cows". Soon the Plowboys will be coming to your town.

Somewhere in America tonight the Psychic Plowboys are rocking the house!!!
