ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
It was 1987 and a disaffected group of musicians--Dan Welch and Richie Mayer from the group Loose Lips, Marcus Padgett of 911, drummer David Suycott of Combo Audio and later Rage Against The Machine--came together in search of new forms of personal expression, outside the boundries of their own musical orbits. And their search gave rise to PushPush; a collective of ideas, styles, instrumentation and emotions creating songs and stories of longing, love and loss, alienation, betrayal and redemption.
These tracks and more were written, arranged and recorded over a period of six months at a secluded studio in an atmosphere of artistic freedom and sonic experimentation. During this period a series of live shows were also performed showcasing the new material and attracting increasingly diverse crowds but, as it often does in the music business, fate intervened and the PushPush project ended and it's tapes were locked away.
But now, 29 years after inception, here are the unreleased Dark Pop songs by PushPush on the album "World On Fire" - 12 songs that continue to resonate with the human condition...in a world clearly gone mad.
