ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Helen Amabel Eshleman (1892 - 1967) was my Great Grandmother. Although I never met her, I understand she was an interesting and unique woman. She loved life, people, animals and nature. She wrote poems, speeches and dedications for and about many things close to her heart -family, friends, pets, love, death and war. In addition her writings, amusingly, also included insects, skunks, baby raccoons and her garden club. The majority of these songs are musical adaptations of her poems.

Tracks 1, 4 and 12 are based on traditional New England whaling songs.
Both Caitlin and I were born and raised on the coast of Massachusetts, and have an affinity for the sea and all its timeless magic and mystery.
