ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Quibble Brothers are “officially” a bluegrass band based in Dallas, Texas. Although bluegrass has a pretty good following, Texas definitely loves its “country music”. We found we played bluegrass with the instrumentation and style of bluegrass, but to attract our home state we had to play the songs they love. So this album is just that. We took the best of Country Music, Western Swing, Red Dirt (aka “Texas Music”) and played them in the “cut and color”, style, tempo and instrumentation of bluegrass!

Amarillo by morning was an automatic! We spruced this song up with awesome instrumental harmonies with the mandolin (Patrick Bouldin) and fiddle (Jake Mills). Richard Gilbert is the vocal on this song, what an awesome job he did. We also added a nice mandolin solo to round the song out.

My Texas, Chicken Fried and Wagon Wheel were all sung by Chris Plumlee – who really took this project and did very well – these songs were tough to get right!

Chris Plumlee and Patrick Bouldin did an awesome job in Opus 23 with instrumental harmonies while Jake Mills added the fiddle.

Wow, Midnight Moonlight is an awesome up-tempo song, written by Peter Rowan. We had a lot of fun in the studio of Brad Davis in Commerce Texas (Brad is very talented, and also holds a prestigious Grammy award. Brad was so much help!

Jake Mills! Wow, what else can you say? Jake is a very energetic and inspiring addition to the band. He’s Mr. Smiles and that rubs off on everyone. Jake did an awesome job with his fiddle on Mason’s Apron, and Chris Plumlee and Patrick Bouldin also contributed the banjo and mandolin.

Liz Patton is simply an amazing bassist. She is quite the “time keeper”. Speaking of smiles, this gal is constantly smiling, and in the scheduled charged studio you gotta have that!

Patrick Bouldin (writing the LP notes) – is also the mandolin player, and pretty much the business manager. Patrick and Richard kicked the band off a few years ago and slowly and steadily built it where it is today.

The Quibble Brothers can be found playing these songs and many many more in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Come see us!
