ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Quinn Erwin is a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, TN. His music gives nods to his influences; particularly artists like Travis, The Frames, Death Cab for Cutie, Genesis, and Pete Yorn, but when asked how he would describe his music he often replies that it sounds like "hope and fear colliding." Whether he is singing about the warm and poignant or the rough and dark he says he wants to write music that makes a difference.

"I don't know that music changes things exactly, but I believe it helps us to open our hearts, it helps us to create a headspace where we can face ourselves and face the world...I want to be a part of writing songs that do just that."

Quinn has been writing and performing for the past 12 years, working toward creating and perfecting an original sound to bring a new voice to modern music. He released his first e.p. A New Day in 2009, and has just released his latest project A Million Miles Away, which he says is the culmination of years of traveling and self-discovery. This batch of songs he says represents "dreams realized, dreams yet to be realized, long distance love, relationships gone wrong, the desire to tread on foreign soil, to know what lies beyond the horizon...this is about a journey!"

Also, Quinn recently won the Jansport Battle of the Bands and is excited to be playing at the Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY in July 2010 where he will share the stage with artists like The Flaming Lips, Widespread Panic, and Sara Watkins of Nickle Creek.

When he is not playing, Quinn spends his days teaching high school English, reading good books, and enjoying the company of his beautiful wife.
