Qupe is a pop/jazz/rock band from Istanbul Turkey. Altuğ and Gürhan two former military service friends decided to form a trio in 2011. With the involvement of the bass player Baran Orduran they began to work on their first recordings of "Rüya"(dream) and "Aynı Nehirde". (In The Same River) with the band name "Üç Maymun" (Three Monkeys). Soon after they have changed their name to QP Trio.

After various studio works and live concerts the band has decided to take a break for a while. In 2015 Gürhan & Altuğ decided to go kick off for an album and inluded Tolga Kaya. Then Barış Yelkenci and Sinan Sekban has also joined the band and Qupe has finally got its latest lineup.

The members started to practice in producer/musician Ege Semercioğlu's studio between August-December 2015 and started to record the songs between January-April 2016. Ege Semercioğlu has taken an important role in the recording and mixing sessions of the band's first album "Halter Ego"

Qupe's songs concentrate on human ego, solidarity, spiritual elements, space and the problems of modern people. The members believe that music is a way for meditation and they are tiny little humans who reflects the cosmic creative energy that exist in the universe.
