Album Notes
Best summarized by the lyrics to "So Beautiful":

thinking this world could be so lovely, why we gotta make it ugly?
sick of seeing my earth cry, stepping through puddles of her tears
sweet couple's screams muffled, street struggles, lyric scuffles to beats in trouble discreet huddles, feet shuffle, defeat subtle
overseas the heat doubles
bubbles burst hunger and thirst, we're among the worst
we love our substance, love the fine apparel
the path could be so wide I think it's us that makes it narrow
poison arrows trying to harm me coming at me from my own army
now what's up with that? abusing the gift of music, using technology as a trap
every time I turn on my tv I get assaulted, yeah I could turn it off
but turning it off aint gonna make it stop, they're still going after my brothers my sisters my seeds, my earth blisters and bleeds
symptoms tricked and deceived, don't believe me?
try finding an episode of "Friends" where they don't invoke pornography
a movie they don't ruin through allusion - it's an anomaly
living less than well try watching SNL for two minutes without crudeness in it
images lewd and vivid, we consume and live it, so easily deceived it's freedom right? freedom left when we turned out the light
they got us right where they want us, even worse, we're paying them for it
you'd think if someone beat you and took your money you'd hate them for it
the truth is they don't want me to talk about it
cuz the truth is how beautiful this world could be without it

so beautiful, we gotta choose the light of grace and of joy
so beautiful, we choose the substance that resides in the soul

it could be what we choose it to be
it's so simple, with a thought we can change who we be
no imposition on your heart, it's so delicately,
given with our love from our divinity
keep yourself open and continue in hope, no matter what
find your truth, don't give into the dope, what they push, an unnatural high, it's a lie, choose your higher high inside

sometimes I hate this world, i'm still in love with it
no matter what she chooses I can still see she's beautiful
even through the cuts and bruises
I know she could still make it, know this life can go on as far as we can take it
if we live in the spirit why don't we walk in the spirit? talk in the spirit
take a minute and give a little bit of thought to the spirit
see this garbage for what it is, go ahead, throw your hands up
but don't forget we're under His
to make their money deception is a must
but respect and trust could make affections and lusts effectively dust
expecting too much in this case is essential
cuz only through the beauty of the beholder's eyes is she gonna realize her potential
no surprise, it wont be televised, the truth is too fresh
see in this revolution we crucify the flesh
not even speaking for myself, feels more like these words hit me
time to move on, people groove on, now work with me

what can I say it's beautiful. my favorite cd this year!

Deron S.

Best conscious rap I’ve heard since early KRS
I don't buy many CDs anymore, but a friend told me I had to check this one out. I've never heard lyrics this well-written. Really makes you think. The beats are nice too... I've been rockin "Innovate" at least once a day. Thanks for making good music that is actually relevant and has something to say. This is what hip-hop was supposed to be. Look forward to hearing more.
