ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Love Twitters (2006) is a work for solo piano written by a Grammy Award-winning composer Augusta Read Thomas(b. 1964). It stems from Irving Berlin’s “They Say It’s Wonderful.” While Berlin’s song is on the sweet side of love, Thomas’ work depicts love from a different vantage point. Love Twitter is capricious, playful, anxious, positive, and determined at last. The composer clearly shows her intentions on the score by adding words such as “whimsical”, “energized and jittery”, “bright and brassy”, and “deliberate and earthy.” Careful listeners would muse on their bittersweet memories of love.

Pianist Hyunjung Rachel Chung has been following her passion for music of our time as well as unsung and forgotten classical music of the past.

Recorded in Studio Jeeb, Roswell, GA (2016)
Piano: Shigeru Kawai
Audio Engineer: Yooseok Jung (9volt music)
Producer: Sungbae Kim (Studio Jeeb)
