ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Rachel Funk is a young New England singer/songwriter inspired by the poetic, folk-based sounds of artists like Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Dar Williams, and Ani DiFranco. Her approach to songwriting is lyrical and subtle, leaving the listener to interpret each song in his/her own way. She has been singing and performing in vocal groups since she was young, and continues to grow as as a solo artist.

"No doubt about it; this is mostly melancholy-but powerful-stuff...In a clear, high alto and with many a wry turn of phrase, Funk notes that our constant search for answers can take on...an intensity...If you're in pain and having a hard time articulating yourself, GROWING SEASON may help some understanding take root-and eventually maybe even bloom." -Tom Hill, columnist, The Valley News
