ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Since picking up the fiddle in college, I have been on an incredibly fun journey seeking out jam sessions all over Boston, packing off to fiddle camps and festivals across this country and Canada, taking workshops from some of my greatest heroes, and performing and collaborating with wonderful friends. About two years ago, I started thinking about sharing the tunes I had been learning and writing more widely. The idea of an album began to percolate, and I started crafting tunes and sets for the project.

The album is rooted in the Cape Breton tradition with many local Boston influences making their way in. There are plenty of old traditional tunes, tunes from some of my favorite contemporary composers (Jerry Holland, John Morris Rankin, Howie MacDonald, Wendy MacIsaac, Andrea Beaton, etc.) as well as tunes I've written over the years. Featured on the album is an all-star cast: Hanneke Cassel on fiddle and piano, Andrea Beaton on fiddle and piano, Katie McNally on fiddle, Natalie Haas on cello, and Yann Falquet on guitar.
