Album Notes
Rachel Rossos provides the melody. Born in New Jersey and schooled in New York City, the 26-year-old folk rock storyteller grew within the Manhattan club scene, weaving together guitar, voice, and bittersweet poetry in such venues as the Knitting Factory, CBGBs Gallery, and Postcrypt Coffeehouse. Her 2004 debut CD "Rated R" is available on CDBaby and in most digital retail stores, including iTunes. From 2002 to 2006, Rachel worked in development for The New York Pops orchestra under the direction of Skitch Henderson in Carnegie Hall. In 2006, Rachel moved to the west coast where she is now the Director of Development and Marketing for the New Century Chamber Orchestra. She has performed in various San Francisco venues, including Hotel Utah, Encounter Studios, and Retox Lounge. In August and October 2006, Rachel was a featured guest on the Cable TV show "SF Open Mic." In 2007, Rachel's voice could be heard in the Studio Theatre's production of "The Pillowman" in Washington, D.C. and on the third album produced by Nick Rossos, Bohemian Fusion. Last year, she sang background vocals for the debut album from Ol' Cheeky Bastards.

"Rated R" was recorded in Rachel's home studio in New York, NY in 2004. "Ebony" features lyrics by and was co-written with Michael Nabinger. Rachel's sister Allie Rossos sings background vocals on "Blue-Eyed, Blonde-Haired."

Rachel currently studies voice with Sue Govali and Ruth Rainero. She performs with her fiancé, keyboard player Michael Gallant. Tentatively called Silver City Rose, the duo plans to release their first album together in fall 2010.

the music was pure. The words were true and from the heart. honest and blissfull
Rachel Rossos, has one of the purist and truist voices that i have hered in a long time. This CD, these songs are her hear, they go much deeper then one would think. I would tell everyone to by this cd. The songes are like the singer, honest and blissfull.

"Rated R" is a refreshing CD full of tracks that spur the mind and touch the heart. Her voice, raw with emotion and angelic in sound, wonderfully compliments her lyrics. This CD is a great one to listen to anywhere at anytime. I highly recommend it!

holler back
This CD is amazing. All I do is listen to this CD and it makes me smile ... Rachel is an amazing singer and person and "blue-eyed blonde-haired" is the best song on the cd (featuring me as background vocals)

A great CD
This CD has definitely become one of the staples to my collection. I think I've listened to it just about every day since I got it.

WOW! Some real gems!
This CD is amazing and versatile. Some songs are ACapella, Some are rockin' out, and others are soft and beautiful. Listening to the cd is like walking through a botanical garden, beauty and variety, something for everyone, and alltogether a work of art worth enjoying multiple times.
