Mister Amore

by Radiosuccessi

This album is a tribute to Italy and to the particular atmosphere that pervades movies like the ‘Dolce Vita’ or ‘Vacanze Romane’. This music is a nod and a wink towards those cheerful 50s and 60s when swing music was at its apex on radio and TV.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album is a tribute to Italy and to the particular atmosphere that pervades movies like the ‘Dolce Vita’ or ‘Vacanze Romane’. This music is a nod and a wink towards those cheerful 50s and 60s when swing music was at its apex on radio and TV.
Music had strange quirks in those days, and lyrics were crazy and surreal. Songs spoke about dotty zebras, or moon-strokes that make you fall in love so that you then have to put an ice pack on your head, or about unlucky heart-breakers who sing theirs hearts out even if they are completely out of tune! On TV shows on Saturday nights, singers with long, shiny dresses used to play alongside marvellous orchestras, introduced by cleverly ironic presenters wearing elegant tuxedos. Happiness was simply enjoying a ride on the new Lambretta, or having an ice cream sitting on the stairs in Piazza di Spagna. Not to mention being able to find a match in the middle of the night, to finally light your very last cigarette!

This is “the” Italy we like to play!
This “truly Italian” way of living - enjoying the tiniest and simplest pleasures of life.

Thanks to the mastery of all the people involved, especially:
Ilaria Crociani: vocals
Mirko Guerrini: saxes, piano, arrangements, sound design
Carlo Alberto Canevali: drums
Ryan Griffith: guitars
Mark Elton: bass
Niran Dasika: trumpet
Eric Budd: trombone
