Album Notes
The album "G.H.R." is a debut release of Rafał Rokicki, a pianist, composer and arranger, a graduate of Berklee College of Music (2008), a recipient of the Jazz Performance Award (2008), a finalist and a laureate of numerous competitions in Poland and Lithuania.

His charismatic performances enchant with their energy, beautiful timbre, expressive minimalism as well as by compositions that combine lyrical scandinavian jazz with funk or latin styles.

In 2007 during his study in Boston, Rokicki met the bassist Zak Croxall and the drummer Thomas Hartman - fellow Berklee graduates. They shared the energy and understanding of music. The Trio was formed.

In 2008 they recorded their first album "G.H.R", which was warmly received by the listeners both in the US and Poland. Rokicki's composition "Undecided" received the top spot on www.ourstage.com in jazz category in February 2009, and since then the recordings has been gaining more and more popularity.

„Subtlety, discrete impressionism, gentle harmonies and a culture of timbre has made their performance something unforgettable."
Jazz Forum Magazine 3/2010

"They have enchanted the audience with a Chopin's lyricism, scandinavian minimalism and a beautiful elegant sound"
Jazz Forum Magazine 07/03/2011

"Rokicki's piano playing is one shapely creation in which there's no crazy harmonic passages, but because of that it forms the sound asociated with the grace and elegance of jazz".
Dionizy Pi!tkowski (Era of Jazz Festival)

"Rokicki is a gifted artist, with carefully crafted technique and ideas. He seems to prefer Romantic aesthetics. He performed his set in deep concentration, gently choosing nicely sounding chords and skillfully grading moods that easily moved from piano to forte."
Jazz Forum Magazine 4/5/2011

„He is very talented and very musical.“
