Album Notes
Experience the first album by the Cincinnati, Ohio band Ralph and The Rhythm Hounds, featuring guitarist Noah Cave. This album reaches down and grabs the blues genre by its roots and moves it forward one song at a time, placing you on a musical journey that is both satisfying and rewarding from the time you first begin to listen until the last sound ebbs into silence. Get a drink and a comfortable chair, sit back and enjoy the sounds of a musical explosion opening up the genre into a new day and a new sound.

The album erupts with “Movin’ On”, a song employing funky Hendrix-esque riffs and interspersed lead parts reminiscent of B.B King. Second, “Craving” starts with an abrupt introduction and transitions into a solid rhythmic and soulful tune with a melodic solo. “Mesmerized” is an apt description for the third song and title track, as the feeling and energy of the song is captivating. The pace is slowed as the album transitions into “Nothing More to Loneliness”, a Blues-Rock influenced psychedelic waltz. The pace is restored with “Strange Love”, a Latin-influenced blues song, which contains wailing solos along the line of Carlos Santana. “Come Along Now” will make you dance with its strong syncopated rhythmic beat and explosive ending. “Blue” is a heartthrob driven song with beautiful harmony and exudes feeling; the song was written to embody the love artist Ralph Cave feels for his wife. The album concludes with the Curtis Mayfield inspired track “Fool for Fantasy”, which contains Latin inspired guitar lead voicings and transitions to a psychedelic outro.
