Album Notes
This album, recorded in 1996 at Rusty's Jazz Cafe in Toledo, OH (1962-2002), is the first independent project from Ramona Collins. The singer can sing, the band, Line One, can play, and the quality is excellent. Ramona says her biggest thrill related to this album was hearing it played nationally for the first time on Jim Wilke's "Jazz After Hours." The icing on the cake was when cats told her they heard cuts from the album while driving home from a gig. Don't forget to check out her latest project, "Live & Lovin' It", which is also available from this site.

Jazz is forever. Period.

This Lady Swings!!
Just received "Everything Old is New Again", this is the first time I have listened to Ramona's work. Was surfing the Bakers Keyboard Lounge website and investigated Ms. Collins. This lady is one great performer! Time after Time & My Baby Just Cares were two of my favorite numbers but all were great. This lady reminds me so very much of Ella Fitzgerald.

A special note about her band "Line One". All of the musicians did a terrific job. The Line One rendition of "Old Devil Moon" was the finest arrangement of that tune I have ever heard. Eric Dickey on the piano and Mark Lemle on the tenor sax blended well with Kevin Eikum's performance on the bass. Bobby Welch added superb backup on the drums. Line One is a group I would sure like to hear more of along with more Ramona of course.
