Album Notes
Heart of Texas Records is proud to announce the debut release from seventeen year Morgan, Texas, resident Rance Norton. Norton, who is an honor student at Meridian High School, has been performing at various Opry shows throughout the state of Texas for the last twelve years.

“We started booking Rance on our Llano and Mason Country Opry shows,” Heart of Texas Records president Tracy Pitcox said. “Justin Trevino and I gained a great respect for not only his vocal ability but his choice in material. This first project is just a taste of what the future holds in the business for this young man.”

Norton chose material for “True Country” that he has been performing for the last few years at concerts and various other venues throughout Texas.

He opens his project up with the Faron Young classic “Wine Me Up” followed by the Hillman Hill composition “Pass Me By.” Norton has long been a fan of Gene Watson and decided to include both “Got No Reason Now for Going Home” and “Should I Come Home (Or Should I Go Crazy)” from the Watson catalog. Ray Price is honored with the recording of three of his standards in “Heart Over Mind” “One More Time” and “Pride.”

Texas Country Music Legend Johnny Bush added his vocals with Norton to the Jim Ed Brown hit “Pop A Top” while producer Justin Trevino recorded “Big Blue Diamonds” with Norton.

“It was great working with Rance in the studio,” Justin Trevino said. “Rance was so excited about being in the studio for the first time and he did a great job. He would do anything that I asked and I feel that he will only continue to improve.”

Two songs written by Trevino including “Texas Honky Tonk” and “The End” round out “True Country.”

“True Country” features some of the finest musicians in the Texas music scene including Jake Hooker on upright bass, Ron Huckabee on piano, Jim Loessberg on drums, Ron Knuth on fiddle, Rick Price on steel guitar and Justin Trevino on lead and rhythm guitar.

“Rance has become one of the most popular young men on the Texas opry circuit,” Trevino said. “True Country” will prove that his dedication to traditional country music goes beyond the live show.”

Rance Norton “True Country” is available in record stores that sell traditional country music or log on to www.heartoftexascountry.com.

Good Country
Talente young man with potential to become a true country singer.

True Country
The title has it down, a true country voice with Texas dripping from every line. Refreshing to hear a young man who knows and sings real country.
