Album Notes
The Randle Parker Band is the collaboration of two West Coast songwriters, Jeffrey Randle from Nanaimo BC and Kevin Parker who moved from San Francisco to Vancouver Island in 2008. Parker has had a unique musical career working as a singing waiter, winning television’s iconic Gong Show twice, showing up on the widely syndicated Dr Demento radio show and performing as lead singer and songwriter for California’s Dogs. Randle has been gigging on the island for several years as a solo artist and with his previous project, The Naked Grapes. Though distinctly different in their approaches to song writing, Parker and Randle complement each other in ways that make the whole greater than the sum of it’s parts

Adding to the mix is bassist Brian Facchin who went to music school for guitar then switched to bass for this project. Kevin met Brian when Brian was doing electrical work at his house and happened to notice Kevin’s collection of guitars. They began rehearsing as a duo and added Jeffrey after he showed up at an open mic that Kevin was hosting. Shortly thereafter Jeffrey’s long time close friend James Chappell began to sit in with the trio on flute and saxophone. James brings years of experience both teaching and performing on Vancouver Island. James is also a member of The Tidesmen, an A Capella Chorus that has been performing classic barbershop harmony since 1973. Rounding out the quintet is drummer Gabe Vadas who has been a regular feature on the Island music scene for many years. The Randle Parker band also employs a variety of backup singers in the studio and during live performances.

The set list is an eclectic array of original music that swings from folk to reggae to power pop and country and covers that showcase a broad spectrum of music from The Band to Gladys Knight and the Pips, Peter Gabriel and The Rolling Stones.

The band recently completed an EP of six songs recorded live at Tiger Mountain Studio in Lantzville with Andrew Halliwell engineering.

In live performances the music of the Randle Parker Band is infectious, danceable and just great fun played by performers who love to perform for a crowd.
