Album Notes
Randy Clay is an American Guitarist, Singer/Songwriter, Recording Artist and Teacher from North Carolina. Randy has been playing since the age of 6. Playing with his family based band in the 1960's he co-wrote, sang and drummed on the songs, "When I Get To Going" and "I'm So Happy", which were recorded at Arthur Smith Studios in Charlotte, NC. At age 8 he began learning to play the guitar which added a more melodic element to his music. His influences were across the board in styles, making him a very versatile player. Later in the 70's he got a Bachelor of Creative Arts degree in music from the University Of North Carolina Charlotte. Randy has performed and recorded professionally, both regionally and nationally with Rock, Jazz, R&B, Country and Beach bands from the 70’s to the 90's. Most notably, Bits And Pieces, Savannah Jack, The Steppe Brothers, City Kids, CC & Company, Station To Station, The Fantastic Shakers, The Breeze Band, Atlantic Groove Band and Billy Scott. In the 2000’s, Randy has been active in the Christian Music Industry serving at several churches as guitarist in praise and worship bands and also in Music Worship Leader capacity as well. During this time period he released 4 Christian Music CDs and a Guitar Method Book. Titles are, “Beyond This World”, “Passengers”, “Randy’s Realm”, “Jingle Bell Christmas Randy Clay and Friends”, and “A Modern Method for the Versatile Guitarist”. Other releases up until the present include the album "Go Where You Go, Do What You Do" and singles: "Big Foot", "It Keeps You Running", "Don't Be Late For Summer", "Cleaning Up This Mess", "Lady Luck" and "Front Stabber". In recent years he remains dedicated to teaching his many protégés, performing with the Randy Clay Band, refining his songwriting skills, playing studio sessions and doing freelance guitar work.
