Album Notes
Steve Denyes (of "I Wear Pink" and Hullabaloo fame) enlisted me (and 19 of his other colleagues) to participate in a charity project called 20 Songs in 20 Days. Fans donated money to Happy Star Melodies—an organization that brings music to kids facing long hospital stays—and song titles to the figurative hat.

Each day, beginning on February 1, 2018, Steve picked a title out of the hat (okay, maybe it's not so figurative after all). He and another fellow songwriters' task (a different "fellow" daily) was to write and record a song inspired by that title . . . by day's end!

My day was Super Bowl Sunday (did I know this when I picked my day months in advance? . . . No (whoops)). The title I was given was "Hugs for My Family, High Fives for My Friends." By the time the third quarter started, I had written and recorded a song about the particularly scary flu season the world is experiencing (made much scarier by the persistent reminders about quadrivalent flu shots by my mother and mother-in-law. (Steve's great song of the same title is about reluctant and skeptical huggers.)
