Album Notes
The Ravers is a mix of new wave meets heavy metal produced by the legendary Andy McKaie who was head of the publicity dept at CBS during the 60's and 70's and later with Arista eventually moved up top special producer at universal whose specialty was box sets
I was a raw young inexperienced fella who had been playingf the orignal music scene in portland oregon new wave and punk were just starting to make its dent on our town and this group did many gigs weekly at the 3 clubs who allowed original music Jay reynolds moved back form hawaii just in time to join the band as we began recording and doing better gigs
great experience Andy taught me a life time worth of lessons in all sorts of music biz ways one of the highlights of the sessions was my 21st birthday party in studio Andy shares the birthday week and Barry Manilo an old pal of his called on my birthday to wish us BOTH a happy time which is cooler to me now than it was thn but what did i know i was 20 ,,! Mckaie recently retired as Sr VP at Universal and was a great mentor to me fomr 1980 til 200 6
