Album Notes
The second single from James's forthcoming 'lost Boy' album, 'Trip the Alarm' is the club-ready throwback to the good old days of R&B-inspired hip-pop. Opening with a simple drum beat, the track soon descends into a thumping, bass-heavy affair as the New Zealand-born singer laments his troubled relationship with alcohol.

"Keen addictions, between afflictions... I guess I had it coming," he starts, as the Timbaland-ish production scales into a sing-along hook. By the time the chorus reaches it's zenith, you'll be humming along to his multi-layered "ums", catching just enough breath to hear his second verse plea for reprieve.

A 21st century self-empowerment anthem; as good as anything Billboard could hope to demonstrate.
