The Buzz on Guitar Noir:

Guitar Noir is a guitar driven instrumental fusion of shred metal, classical, blues, prog rock, jazz, latin and blue-grass by virtuoso session guitarist and film score composer, Ray DeTone.

These tracks were plucked from over 80 songs RDT composed for TV & film from April of 2005 to January 2006 - a prolific ten-month period. Other than a few guests on piano and drums, DeTone is in complete control here, using a variety of guitars & textures, playing bass, percussion, keyboards and programming rhythms.

Ray DeTone has always been an eclectic player, fusing diverse musical elements, styles and genres, creating a signature sound that stands out amidst todays' onslaught of redundancy. Melody and emotional intensity coupled with the appropriate style and sound for the song are of utmost importance to this fine guitarist. And this musical maturity is once again showcased on his third instrumental CD, Guitar Noir!

Mr. Frank J. Stola

One of the best underated musicians from NEW YORK I know!
RAY DE TONE played on several sessions with Ralph Boccagno, Artie Guirreio, Andrew Peirce and myself years ago in N.Y. ....these sessions needless to say were great. 4 years later caught my old buddy with CRY BABY performing the hotest clubs in NYC....they were fantastic. I suggest you check RAY out...live or on CD BABY...Sincerely FJS

A Good Show Of Versatality
If you're a fan of well executed, well produced music, you NEED to have this CD (especially if you're a guitar player). The CD is compiled from film / soundtrack work that RDT has done so it covers a lot of music genres.

They all sound genuine and the music is well crafted and performed extremely well.
