Unknown Mariner

by Raymond Gonzalez

Unknown Mariner is a collection of 15solo fingerstyle guitar pieces. You'll hear bits of modern classical, jazz, celtic, blues etc. couched in very accessible melodies and harmony. I call it 'alternative-classical- acoustic.'

Album Notes
Unknown Mariner, a collection of 15 solo fingerstyle guitar pieces I composed over the last 4 years. You'll hear bits of modern classical, jazz, celtic, modern something, blues and who knows what else might be filtered through my own sensibilities that have been evolving through almost 50 years as a composer. Yikes! This will be my 13th CD and 4th solo guitar collection. It takes me some time to create these solo guitar projects since the writing and technique require patience and craft to make the tunes just right.

"One of America's finest guitarists and composers"
-Dave Palmater, WUMB Radio Boston

"It's hard to say which is better, his way with a six string or his way with a pen"
-Neil Fagan, Performing Songwriter Magazine

"Raymond Gonzalez proves himself to be a world class artist worthy of recognition beyond our humble seaside state" -Brian Owens, Metronome Magazine, Boston.

"Open Tuning" listed in the top 20 Albums for 2012 - Metronome Magazine
