ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Raymond Riccomini, trumpet, has been with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since the fall of 2004. Prior to joining the Met, Raymond was a member of the New Jersey Symphony trumpet section, Principal trumpet with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, and performed and toured frequently as an extra with the New York Philharmonic.
Raymond was raised on Long Island in a very musical household, with his father being a band director and euphonium player, and two brothers who also played brass instruments. While in High School, his parents enrolled him in the Juilliard school’s pre-college division as a student of Eduard Treutel. Raymond received his Bachelor of Music from the Mannes College of Music, studying with Vincent Penzarella of the New York Philharmonic. He studied his Master of Music at the Manhattan School of Music with New York Philharmonic Principal trumpeter Philip Smith.
Currently, Raymond serves on the trumpet faculty of the Mannes College of Music, and is also the Brass department chairman.
