Album Notes
This is my fifth album to date and follows the same theme of folk, contemporary, Country and even a bit of Blues. It features eleven songs, five written by myself and two co-written with friends. There’s a John Prine cover, along with a Bob Dylan/Ketch Secor classic.

Track List:

1. It’s Good to Know You – Ray Moore

A song about an old friend, or many friends I suppose.

2. A Friend of Mine – Ray Moore

I used to walk past this old man’s room when visiting my late Mother at the care home. I never did get to know him or even see his face…

3. Ordinary Man – Peter Hames

A well known song made popular by Christy Moore

4. Black is the Colour – Traditional

A lovely traditional love ballad from Scotland

5. The Hills of Connemara – Ray Moore

A tale of a recent sailing trip around the west coast of Ireland on my friend Davy Thompson’s 32 foot yacht, along with his brother-in-law Tim Brown. The Hills were not as they seem!

6. The Hebrides – Tim Brown/Ray Moore

The lyrics of this lovely song are from a poem by afore mentioned Tim Brown of a trip he made to Lewis and Harris a few year’s ago. I added the melody.

7. Angel from Montgomery – John Prine

I have recorded a few of John Prine’s superb songs, this is yet another classic by the master.

8. Get the City Out of Me – Ray Moore

My first and only Blues song, so far. Not really about any city in particular.

9. The Only Dream I Ever Had Was You – Ray Moore

A tale of broken dreams, not realising I had the only dream I was ever looking for all along.

10. Wagon Wheel – Bob Dylan/Ketch Secor

The ever popular hit, covered by many big names. This version is based on the original and in my opinion, the best by The Old Crow Medicine Show.

11. Winter – Gordon Park/Ray Moore

My friend Gordon Park and I set ourselves a challenge, to write a song in one hour. It was a beautiful sunny day in June and we decided to write a happy summer sounding song, the final result…a song about winter!
