ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is fiddler Rayna Gellert\'s first album, released in 2000. It was recorded with a host of great old-time players: Paul Brown, John Herrmann, Phil Jamison, Meredith McIntosh, Travis Stuart, and Trevor Stuart.

A very well-received debut, this album includes unusual versions of old-time standards as well as a couple of Rayna\'s original tunes (\"Swannanoa Waltz\" and \"Willow on the Lake\"), plus Joe LaRose\'s lovely \"Winder Slide\".

Rayna Gellert is a member of Uncle Earl, and has recorded with a slew of artists, including Tyler Ramsey, Otis Taylor, Toubab Krewe, Sara Watkins, and John Paul Jones.

\"Rayna plays with an incredible sensitivity, restraint, and skill that is uncommon.\"
