Album Notes
Rock 'n' Roll in Boston in the late 1970's was a vital place and one scenester destined for greatness on a national scale was Power Pop pioneer Ray Paul, who set the town ablaze with his fiery, visceral brand of original Beatleseque Pop. Welcome now the return of Ray Paul with his first new release since his critically acclaimed career CD compilation, "The Charles Beat (Best of the Boston Years 1977-1981 & Now)" in 2000. Guest appearances by Clem Burke (Blondie), Emitt Rhodes, Terry Draper (Klaatu), Kurt Reil (Grip Weeds), Kristin Pinell Reil (Grip Weeds), Gar Francis (Doughboys) and Walter Clevenger. All new originals plus updated cover versions of "Pretty Flamingo," "Temptation Eyes" and McCartney's "Oh Woman, Oh Why," which are sure to please. Recorded in L.A., Toronto, Highland Park, NJ and Rochester, NY, the production and level of performances achieve high standards. Recently, Ray Paul appeared in the Emitt Rhodes documentary film, "The One Man Beatles." Tour dates this summer in Rochester, NY; Brooklyn, NY; Los Angeles; San Diego and fall dates in Boston and upstate NY.
