ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
When Oscar winner (ON GOLDEN POND) Ernest Thompson heard Ray Porcell's CD, PIECES OF THE PUZZLE, he invited Ray to collaborate on a song for Ernest's new movie. That's where the hauntingly mournful "Wishes" came from, an integral part of the TIME AND CHARGES soundtrack. But it was only the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Ray and Ernest have now written dozens of songs, 14 of which are featured on this album. From the title track, a paean to squandered love and longing, to "And You Smile," the sadly timely desire to connect with a loved one slipping into dementia, THE JOURNEY GOES ON looks at love and loss from 14 different angles. Ernest's lyrics and Ray's seductive melodies combine for a completely immersive musical experience and Ray's amazing voice and vast range on the guitar make him the best country singer ever born on Staten Island.
