Album Notes

Parent's Choice "Recommended"
Canadian Children's Book Centre "Our Choice"
East Coast Music Awards "Nominee"

This is an award-winning recording of fun, upbeat, engaging songs that both children and parents love. Songs are in English, French and Hebrew. Musical styles include Celtic, French-Acadian, Klezmer, Appalachian, and Rock-a-Billy. Concepts promoted include self esteem, the value of family connections, having fun with music and language, physical activity, and sharing and taking care of our world.

Sesame Street chose the Razzmatazz song, Going to my Grandma's. They produced and broadcast a music video of it on the program. This song was also chosen by the Canadian Independent Record Production Association for inclusion in its Smile Songs compilation. The song, Bump, was synchronized for the television show Prairie Berry Pie. The song, The Crazy Shakedown (from this recording), and two songs from the Razzmatazz “Suitcase Full of Songs” recording, Chugga Choo Choo, and Sleeping Over, were chosen by Casablanca Records for inclusion in three of their compilations of children's songs.

Live performances by Razzmatazz for Kids will get you hugging someone you love, clucking like a chicken, bumping up and down on a bumpy bus, or performing on stage with them. They tour in Canada and the U.S. and were invited to perform for the First Ladies of the U.S. and Canada. They have performed with Symphony Nova Scotia, have appeared many folk and children's festivals, and perform often for school audiences.

Thomas Cormier (T.C.) is the front man of the group--a singer, songwriter, and comedian. "Flinging his spidery legs in all directions, Razzmatazz's Thomas Cormier looks like a dangerously out-of-control jumping jack. The kids . . . loved him." (Stephen Pedersen, The Halifax Herald). Sandy Greenberg sings, plays guitar, and writes songs for Razzmatazz. ".. her sense of genuineness . . . really connects with the listener. Her Joan Baez-like alto has an impressive, expressive range; her acoustic guitar style is clear and consistent." (Ron Foley Macdonald, The Daily News).

"Witty and substantial songs with an irresistible catchiness. The intense combination of inspired whimsy, pure silliness, traditional tunes delivered by strong musicianship and warmth of personality make Razzmatazz For Kids a superior example of a limited genre."
Ron Foley Macdonald, The Daily News, Halifax, Nova Scotia

“We bought the CD on Friday and by Saturday night, my 7-year old had listened to it 15 times. Her eyes just light up as soon as the music starts.”
Laura Cormier, Halifax, Nova Scotia

"My son is turning 3 in a couple of days. Ever since he was old enough to verbally express an opinion (18 mos or so), and probably even earlier, your has been the ONLY children's music he likes. He asks to play it almost daily.”
Marie Christ, Halifax, Nova Scotia

“Their performance is a gift. Everyone in the audience takes part in the non-stop, delightfully fun, foot-stomping,hand-clapping, everything gesturing, show. The children sang and giggled through the hour-long performance and reluctantly
waved good-bye when all was ‘sang’ and done. Aren’t we lucky to have such a tremendously talented children’s musical group on our doorstep.”
Parents’n’Kids Magazine, Halifax, Nova Scotia

"Captivating the attention and imagination of over 1000 children, Razzmatazz electrified the Jubilee's most successful children's event ever. . .
Razzmatazz delivers quality children's entertainment!
