Album Notes
Looking Back... This album from Richard Bates is one of the best Soul-Folk sounding I've heard sence Robert Earl Keen. His sence of talent revals when Richard spills his voice in this terrific record and from the different sounds and styles I've heard. I truly do love "Looking Back" from
Richard Bates. - Mitchell Keller The Back Porch Show Borderline Music Networks

Richard's Bio

Richard Bates taught himself how to play the guitar while growing up on the red dirt roads of East Texas. He began writing and performing music at an early age influenced by favorites such as Jerry Jeff Walker, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley. The style that was created is a great mix of Americana and good old-fashioned country that gives Richard's songs a fun, upbeat flare. Enjoy the innovative Looking Back CD and find your next favorite song!

someone and something that stands out from the rest
I have enjoyed this cd. I realize this may be one of Rich's initial works and expect him to only get better... I'm waiting for a live version or a follow up album. Be yourself Richard!

Dean Schriener

really good, it has a classic hometown attitude in the songs
this cd is really good, it doesnt talk about heartbreak and sorrow, it has a positive message and it also respects women, which is hard to find in songs nowadays. I plan on ordering a cd as soon as I can get registered onto this site. good job richard bates

Ben Garcia

it is pretty good for a guy who isnt a pro
I think that this cd is good, considering it comes from a guy who taught himself to play. I will definently tell my friends about this cd.

Travis Drake

hey this is awsome, i mean totally awsome
I really think this could go somewhere richard, it has a very good quality and very good lyrics. if it were possible i would give this cd 7 stars. I cant wait until the next one comes out.

its about time a cd LIKE this came out
i am a diehard country western fan and i have been waiting for a cd this good to come out. if richard makes more like this then i am going to buy every one of these cds.

This is the best written original stuff I have heard in years. Absolute genius. The lyrics are moving, especially on "When youre with me". This one will go a long way.

roy koonce

really good cd, a good downhome feel to it, something new,
this cd is a real find, the words tell a different story, from the normal country flavor that everyone is spinning out these days.
