Album Notes
Hommage à Tom et Jerry (2010) portrays opposites in dialogue: the classic battle between cat (solo flute) and mouse (solo piccolo), both comical and serious, chase and be chased, weltschmerz and ragtime, jumpy cat vs scurrying mouse.
Each movement of Partita in A Minor is a baroque dance from a different part of Europe.
Sonatine was composed as a test piece for Paris Conservatory examinations.
Fantasia Appassionata (1994) and Trillium (1999) were both composed for the NFA High School Soloist Competition to introduce extended techniques to younger students. Extended techniques in this CD include key slaps, harmonics, microtones, multiphonics, nonstandard trills, and tremelos.
