Album Notes
One of the great sensations of ScottWorks—the daylong festival celebrating Raymond Scott's music and machines—was the performance by the Reckless Night Ensemble. This all-star collective, led by guitarist/composer Skip Heller (Sesame St, Yma Sumac, Bootsy Collins, NRBQ, Dexter's Laboratory, Bob Dorough and others) covered Scott's music from all his periods, using his famed Quintette instrumentation. The performances were true to the Raymond Scott spirit, but the arrangements also showcased the ensemble's brilliant young musicians.
