Album Notes
For the past 8 years, Recycled Future has delivered its dynamic signature sound contributing to the vast landscapes of modern music. Musical genres range from soul to reggae, afro-beat to rock, funk to pop, and as always, the Future emphasizes groovin' and movin'. Through years of touring the U.S. and abroad --including headlining a 2-week adventure in Barcelona, Spain-- Recycled Future has shared the stage with the likes of the Roots, Atmosphere, Jason Mraz, Rusted Root, Def Harmonic, Rusty P's, etc., and has honed its abilities to rock a crowd. They have built and maintained an ever-growing network of fans and friends throughout the world over. With a full lineup of keys, guitars, bass, drums, congas and the Sa-Dah-Tay Horn Section, the energy generated live on stage welcomes and engages the audience. Live, Recycled Future captures the production quality of their studio work and expands upon the ideas and structures of the songs, making each and every show genuinely unique. In the times of sequencers and laptops, Recycled Future still maintains and exemplifies the special and wonderful joy of live, hands-on, in-the-moment musical performance.

Having performed at a wide variety of clubs and venues such as John Lee Hooker's Boom Boom Room in San Francisco and annual shows at the world's largest outdoor music festival, Summerfest, each performance is custom tailored to accommodate the surroundings whether it be an outdoor festival crowd or an intimate acoustic cafe type environment. The Recycled Future songbook consists mostly of original works with some well- crafted arrangements of choice cover songs, and their strength is in the fluency and roots of the material that they perform. The newest studio release, The Nettle, stands as a defining moment in the
evolution of the voice of the band. An organic progression of styles and vision is apparent when listening to their earlier recordings, Balloon People on the Highway, and From Tomorrow and all of RF's records have received praise from the independent music industry. Co-founders Todd Richards (bass, guitar, vocals) and Erik "e-bot" Radloff (drums, vocals) have spent valuable time in a brief hiatus from touring to thoughtfully write and re-craft the new material. What has emerged has been called Elvis Costello meets 70s folk rock (The Onion), with a strong emphasis on songwriting, melody, and, of course, the groove. Recycled Future represents the progression and diverse sound of music as we know it today.
