Album Notes
Regan Lane is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter, father, husband, recovering addict and lab technician in the ink industry who releases critically acclaimed full band pop-rock CD's that are reminiscent of classic British pop artists. He’s also a charismatic and inspirational live performer and a VJ for 'Puget Sounds TV', a northwest video show featuring local and national music performers from various genres.

Regan's had placement and airplay of his heartfelt pop songs on numerous TV shows throught the US.
His jubilant pop song 'U Won't Believe' was heard on NBC's "Race across America" and is also the theme song for "Puget Sounds TV", a northwest TV show featuring local and national indie artists. Regan's Lennon-esque song 'The Ocean Makes Her Cry' was recently played on The Discovery Channels' "Strictly Sex With Dr. Drew: Am I Normal?" and his pop gem 'Junkie'
was heard on a recent Johnny Knoxville's MTV special.

Regan has also won the RadioIndy.Com ‘Songwriter Of The Year’ award for 2004 and two of his compositions won the world wide Compo10 songwriting contest, as voted on by his songwriting peers from around the world.

Writing pure pop delicacies in the classic tradition of bands and artists such as John Lennon, XTC or Michael Penn,Regan's confessional, often inspirationally dark lyrics and sugar sweet pop melodies have touched a nerve in both fans and critics alike. ‘ICU In Dandylions’, recorded with his former band BrokenNess, was voted one of the top 50 CD releases for 2003 on Kweevak .com, one of the most influential independent music sites on the web. Regan also has been a featured artist on numerous websites throughout the world; has had 7 songs added to compilation cd's globally, and has received rave reviews from fans and critics around the world with airplay in such faraway places as the United Kingdom, Australia and Germany.

And now a new chapter in Regan's story begins, with the release of his first solo CD.

From the opening blast of energy on the power pop rockin’ title cut to the electronic pulse of the Bowie-esque final song ‘Earth Boy’ Regan Lane’s ‘Don't Mess With The Pretty’ is an eclectic, ambitious collection of intelligent pop and rock.
Seamlessly mixing crunchy guitars, country tinged pedal steel, bluesy harmonica and shiny strumming acoustics with a rhythm section as elastic as a rubber band Regan‘s crafty pop evokes memories of John Lennon and talks about working for the man, how fast it all goes by, good days and bad days and of course a little sex, lust and love.

Modern and nostalgic, soft and hard, fast and slow, Regan Lanes’ ‘Don’t Mess With The Pretty’ is a delightful addition to the catalogue of great pop that continues to come out of the Pacific Northwest!

Power Pop That Is Both Catchy And Edgy!
Puyallup, Washington's Regan Lane combines power pop influences from various avenues into music that is both catchy and edgy. The title track can make you think of everyone from Bowie to Iggy Pop to Alice Cooper. “Play the Part” has a more Brit Pop vibe. “Time Flies” is a twisted blues ballad showcasing Regan's avant garde but quite stunning vocal abilities. Excellent songwriting both lyrically and musically, Regan uses his roots to break molds with this very entertaining effort.

Again Reg shows his mastery of this art, Don't mess with the pretty is in my head all day now. Great Job.

A Strong CD from an Innovative and Intelligent Artist!
Lane sites a wide range of influences from classic rockers John Lennon to contemporary bands such as Collective Soul. His sound is an eclectic blend of alternative pop, British and rock. Regan handles the majority of the instruments on his ten-track solo debut, but the CD does feature other talented players too. Lane's songs are catchy with a range of moods and tempos. His lyrics are a look at the "wonder and absurdity of the world we live in today." Lane has a crisp, expressive voice that works well in the various genres that he incorporates into his music. The CD is strong from the energetic opening track to the electronically influenced closer. 'Time Flies' and 'I Like The Picture' were my particular favorites with their creative textures and tones. Regan Lane is an innovative and intelligent artist and his debut is sure to please!
