ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
On his debut album, Fake It Til You Naked—a collaborative effort with Cali producer YoungHoon Beats—the Queens-bread emcee served broke-in-the-club anthems ("Swingin") and threatened to take women shopping at the Payless Shoe Source ("AA Meeting"). An independently released lifestyle album—that’s vulgar yet strangely relatable—FITYN still managed to capture the attention of notable outlets such as Complex, Mass Appeal, and RapReviews.com,

Known for his animated delivery and riotous performances, Rek's been a regular at talent showcases since college and has spit his verses at venues all around New York including the Latin Quarters, Irving Plaza, and Best Buy Theater. His stage presence has been compared to an Ol' Dirty Bastard and he continues to draw crowds who seek the unexpected.

For his new album, Whatever You Say—releasing this summer—Rek captures the heart and spirit of today's America. Whether it's an unhealthy obsession with reality TV or addressing a growing suspicion of the government among citizens armed with the Internet and HBO, no hamburger bun is left unturned. The first single and coinciding title track, "Whatever You Say" has already received praise for its lyrical prowess and bizarre visual, with Hypetrak calling it "an overbearing spectacle that's both weird and exciting." With more singles that boast sounds and videos that are equally “refreshing” on their way, Rekstizzy plans to make his mark in the game with bad humor and relevance.
