ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
We are a Canadian, East-Coast based Funk rock trio. Our power trio format is the cornerstone of our live show, but the jewel in our crown is our recordings. We prize the writing and recording process as much as performing, if not slightly more. We like to start with the groove....some unusual beat, or loop as a starting point, then draping some unique layers overtop and see if anything grabs us by the gut. If not, we move on. If so, we tweak, craft, record, repeat. It's a labor of absolute love that has spanned my whole adult life, and some of my childhood, dating back to my first recordings on a 4-track cassette machine. Steve Harley, a family doctor that now has music as a full-time concern, teamed up with his long-term co-conspirator, James Bond (bassist) and formed Remedy in the mid-2000's. Gil Roy, a full-time gigger of many years, joined the group in 2006, forming the final trio, and completing the membership of Remedy. An effortless chemistry was evident from the beginning, with all players being familiar already with each other's style. Since then, no less than a decade of gigging and jamming, writing and recording has only strengthened the bonds of musical proficiency, tightness, and cohesiveness that were there from the start, and expanded greatly since. We've also forged own unique sound and style. Whatever else we may or may not have done, our single-most worthy and proudest achievement, was discovering a musical style and sound that was completely our own. Nobody else had just what we had. If you wanted to hear our style of music, we were the only place to get it. If we learn a new cover song, but re-arrange it to better fit our style and sound, that's when we say we've "Remefied" the song. And our tight-knit ultra supportive beautiful group of Remedisiacs, are the best inspiration we have to keep going. For only because of them, we continue to write, create, record and perform the music. We like it.
They like it. And we very much hope you like it too!
