ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
A native of Los Angeles California, music has been in RENE' PORTE's blood since her early childhood. At seven years old RENE build her own guitar out of a two by four and some rubberbands. However, her formal training began when RENE was twelve. Then by fourteen she was playing jazz standards and playing in a jazz workshop, THE QUINCY JONES JAZZ WORKSHOP,enable her to embellish her style. Like many of her peers, RENE began performing in clubs at sixteen with an all female R&B band for 5 years, called KLYMAXX whom later was signed to a major label in the mid 80's.However, RENE left the band before the record deal, but that didn't stop RENE from making records to which she perform all the instrumentation on all recordings from than on. RENE PORTE became a member of THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SONGWRITERS,in the 90's where she began to fine tune her writing skills. Her music ranges from the classic funk and rock "n" roll of the 80's and 90's and also modern pop/rock of today.

These days, RENE'PORTE' produces a talent show on cable television "PORTE GROOVE" and promoting her latest single,
"WHO SAID A GIRL CAN'T PLAY GUITAR" and her most requested song "MOON EYES" and "VOICES IN THE WIND".
RENE PORTE has always been a hard rocking, energetic guitarist, with exceptional improvisational skills when performing, and yet creating a remarkable following.
