Resonance Flute Consort is an ensemble of seven. professional, Los Angeles flutists who share a kindred spirit with other flute ensembles, yet sit firmly outside the traditional box for flute choir. We strive to emancipate the flute from the potentially restrictive classical world and let it frolic and cavort in the unexpected playgrounds of pop, jazz, film, and television music.
Lights, Camera, Flutes! represents a collection of iconic and enduring music from classic films and television shows, and brings together Hollywood’s compositional elite to create the most ground-breaking flute ensemble arrangements ever performed.
Included in the many inspired arrangements are … the ethereal "Somewhere In Time," and a rousing military march medley "From Patton to Pyle." Put on your Fred Astaire shoes for the Berlin medley, "Three From Irving," and prepare for the "Wizard of Oz Medley" to take the wicked old witch on a swingin’ broomstick ride through Oz. You’ll be singing the themes of beloved television shows with "TV Families Through the Years" as you get your cowboy hat and ride into the sunset with "The Magnificent Seven."
Along with many of Hollywood’s finest studio musicians, legendary guest artists pianist-composer David Benoit and jazz-rock flutist Tim Weisberg join us on a special arrangement of Vince Guaraldi’s Skating from A Charlie Brown Christmas.
One of the many definitions of resonance is “a relationship of mutual understanding, or trust and agreement between people” – or as in our case, between music and the listener. Therefore, to resonate is to evoke a feeling or a shared emotion or belief. We hope your experience of the Resonance Flute Consort resonates as deeply with you as it does with us.
