the story behind the songs
--------------
SOLDIER AND THE FORTUNE TELLER

Rhiannon tells the wonderfully romantic story of a soldier who goes to see a fortune teller during the war in Vietnam while he is recovering from an injury in a place called Vung Tau which was an R&R resort similar to China Beach. You'll be enchanted as she tells of the conversation that takes place between them as she answers his questions about love through fortune telling methods such as palm and tea-leaf reading.
Lyrics: Rhiannon
Tune: Liana Bray & Rhiannon

---------------
EKANEETLEE SUNRISE

Rhiannon tells the story of the conversations she and her father had about a painting he
displayed on the living room wall of thier modest home when she was a young child of his favorite camping site in the Great Smokies-during these conversations, Rhiannon learned about the forced relocation of the Cherokee along the "Trail Of Tears" and of her own Native ancestory.
Lyrics: Rhiannon
Tune: Rhiannon

---------------
BLUE ROSES

Rhiannon sings about love and romance.
Lyrics: Rhiannon
Tune: Rhiannon & Rick Johnson
---------------
LIVIN' IN THE SUN
Lyrics: Wayne C. Moore Jr. , Rhiannon
Tune: Wayne C. Moore Jr., Rhiannon
---------------
THE MOORS

Rhiannon wrote this song about her favorite movie "Wuthering Heights" starring Juliete Binoche and Ralph Feinnes as Cathy and Heathcliffe.(based on
the book Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte)
Lyrics: Rhiannon

EKANEETLEE SUNRISE

VERSE 1
HE LIKES TO WATCH THE EKANEETLEE SUNRISE COMIN' UP
WHILE HE'S SIPPIN' FROM HIS FAVORITE STARRY STARRY CUP
GOLDEN GLOW BETWEEN THE TREES
MOUNTAIN LAUREL ON THE BREEZE

CHORUS
THE EKANEETLEE SUNRISE NEVER FADES
NEVER A LINE AND NO ADMISSION AT THE GATE
EV'RY MORNINS' A SURPRISE
SOFTLY PAINTED ON THE SKY

VERSE 2
HE'LL SHOW YOU A PLACE BETWEEN THE BRANCHES OF THE TREES
AS HE TELLS FORGOTTEN STORIES OF THE CHEROKEE
YOU CAN SEE THE TRAIL OF TEARS
HEAR THEM FALLIN' IN YOUR EARS

REPEAT CHORUS

VERSE 3
SAW THE SHADOW OF AN EAGLE AT THE WATER'S EDGE
SAW A FEATHER FLOATIN' SOFTLY ON A RIVER BED
HE SAID "THE EAGLE'S ONLY FRIEND
IS THE KINDNESS OF THE WIND"

REPEAT CHORUS

----------------
Blue Roses

still can see us standin' there
in a memory that we share
may have been the end of the line
but for a moment you were mine
you gave me blue roses
blue roses
blue roses
that will never fade

i'll be waitin' there for you
when the sun is on the dew
when you see me standin' there
hold me closer if you dare
and give me blue roses
blue roses
blue roses
that will never fade

when the storm comes rollin' in
open windows -let it in
see the lightnin'
feel the wind
let the rain come pourin' in
and give me blue roses
blue roses
blue roses
that will never fade
-----------------
the moors---based on wuthering heights

saw a book on the shelf one day
and it just seemed to call my name
told of a gypsy and a girl
took me to another world

heathcliffe was silent he was dark
and only one could hold his heart
and how cathy loved him too
he was all she ever knew

and to the moors they'd run away
he'd watch the wind caress her face
and when they'd find a place to rest
she'd lay her head upon his chest

he overheard miss cathy say
that she could never take his name
took what he had and went away
left her standin' in the rain

her spirit never left the heights
lookin' for the candlelight
roamed the earth near 20 years
waitin' for her love so dear

and to the moors they'd run away
he'd watch the wind caress her face
and when they'd find a place to rest
she'd lay her head upon his chest
-----------------
soldier and the fortune teller

verse 1
she came down from Little Paris
with Flyin' Stars and candied lotus
she had found the perfect place
to teach the Pillars of thier fate

verse 2
went down to Vung Tau for some rest
with a bindin' for his crest
saw a room with silk and lace
and paper roses in a vase

chorus
how far from the handle
wondered if she'd know the answer
how far from the handle
soldier and the fortune teller

payoff
said to her "can you read the leaves ?"
"who was born for lovin' me ?"
"how far from the handle ?"
"how long will it be ?"

verse 3
she held his palm within her hand
to see just how his heartline ran
union line was fallin' down
with breaks and islands all around

verse 4
she saw HER in the moon and stars
a baby cradled in the dark
far across the ocean miles
it's gonna be a long long while

repeat chorus

bridge
someday he will notice her
singin' like a lonely love bird
she will love him at first sight
somehow it will turn out right

repeat chorus

tag
how far from the handle ?...she blew out the candle
then she said "far from the handle"
-----------------
livin' in the sun

verse 1
we were livin' in the sun
we had found a place to run
holdin' closely to the mare
golden rays on curly hair
we were livin' in the sun
we had found a place to run

chorus
we forgot about september
but i know that we'll remember
jumpin' o'er the garden wall
thinkin' night would never fall

verse 2
we were livin' in the sun
we had found a place to run
buildin' castles in the sand
scarlet banner in our hands
we were livin' in the sun
we had found a place to run

repeat chorus

verse 3 *
we were livin' in the sun
we had found a place to run
laughin' in the summer wind
never see that day again
we were livin' in the sun
we had found a place to run

repeat chorus

tag
we were livin' in the sun

RECORDING STUDIO :

There comes a time for every artist when they must honestly assess thier skills and ablities, and decide what aspects of thier projects they should delegate to a professional in order to create a CD intended for sale to the public at large.

If you are an artist looking to record your music, I strongly recommend "Song Writer's Studio" in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Song Writer's studio offers a well-equipped, yet relaxed atmosphere, where the creativity and input of the artist is appreciated and respected.

I sincerely believe that you'll also find that the professionalism of the studio owner far surpasses his "more than reasonable" rates!
