Album Notes
Danny Rhodes has played and sang professionally for 40 years. He has toured and performed with a variety of artists ranging from Charlie Rich to Gatemouth Brown; Brenda Lee to Rodney Crowell. A veteran of the Austin and Nashville music scenes, Danny has spent the last 10 years in Arizona, writing and recording three cds. Home Cookin', Welcome to the Night and his latest, Cairo to Cottonwood, which is an acoustic album and a departure from the blues rock of the two prior records. As a writer Danny has penned songs for the great Etta James and Eddie Raven among others which reflects the rich diversity of his musical background. Raised in Louisiana, the son of a professional pianist mom, Danny's roots run deep and his new record Cairo to Cottonwood gives the listener a glimpse into a life that would take a novel to describe. Cairo to Cottonwood
This album is something to be added to any blues fan. Danny Rhodes past away on May 23,2008. His music lives on and he will be sorely missed.

Cairo to Cottonwood
This is an elegant album. It has great music, the best of guitar playing, just-right arrangements, simplicity, and the well-crafted songs are given enough space to breath and fly straight to your heart propelled by Danny's inspired performance. I met Danny Rhodes around 1980 when he first blew away Jerome, AZ with his guitar playing and he has been an influence for me and many since. He left a wonderful legacy and many good musical vibes in Arizona. He recently took that ultimate sentimenal journey and will be missed and always loved.
