ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Porto, by Sofia Ribeiro and Gui Duvignau, is an album of cultural convergence. Strongly rooted in the Portuguese and Brazilian musical traditions, its music promotes a dialog between cultures: a poem by Fernando Pessoa, a song by Tom Jobim, a fado. Its production and its international line up of musicians also contribute towards this cultural blend, transcending geographical boundaries. It is therefore, a musical nexus, a translation of various influences into a personal and coherent amalgam of ideas, finely balanced by the musicians' interaction through improvisation and a technical and aesthetic rigor in the writing of the compositions and arrangements.

Sofia Ribeiro - voice
João Salcedo - piano
Leonardo Montana - piano
Gui Duvignau - double bass
Thibault Perriard - drums
Mathieu Gramoli - drums
Luísa Vieira - flute

Produced and arranged by Gui Duvignau
