Album Notes
Canciones internas y de otras partes (Songs from the interior and beyond…) is the meeting of traditional pieces from Latin America and other places with the modern and subversive language of singer Juanita Delgado and composer and pianist Ricardo Gallo.
A repertory that includes cuban cradle songs, pieces by Violeta Parra, afro-Colombian "bailes cantados" (dance form pieces originally for voices and drums), songs in Portuguese, Basque and English, as well as original compositions, is the pretense to weave social themes with love and unrequited love poems, the impotence and madness with sweetness, intemperance with yearning, all covered by a net of exquisite and intimate improvisation.
