ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This chapter in the story of the Richard Petticoat Junction begins in the spring of 2010 in the basement of a modest residence on a quiet tree lined side street in the capital of New York State where, inspired by fictional events, the Junction dusted off a broken 4 track cassette deck to lay down the underground alt-blues EP, Mudd Flapps Rollin’. This lo-fi joint caught the ear of aspiring producer and cook Sir Eton Benson Rice, a man with the means to push a musical agenda and the spirit to inspire the Junction to reach for new heights. Sir Eton and the Junction joined forces and through a 9 month frenzy of studio construction, song writing, recording and locally produced wines, Mudd Flapps was born. Mudd Flapps is dedicated to Antoine Batiste and his city of New Orleans, Louisiana.

From the rich American soil of traditional rock and roll, each of the 11 tracks on Mudd Flapps grows into its own uniquely colored blossom. From the seafaring domestic bliss of Cold Milk to the thunder struck ambivalence of Juggalo. From the pounding free association of Blood Red Sound to the exhausted hootenanny that is Too Soon. And there is so much more. Sir Eton even makes a cameo appearance. In the end, Mudd Flapps does more than protect you from debris thrown by a rotating tire, it tells a story of music in America and life on this planet we call Earth.
