Album Notes

Parr’s story begins when he was born in Mount Holly, New Jersey in the early 50’s. After being placed in numerous foster homes, he was adopted by the Parr’s in 1952 and lived with them until about 1966. It was at this time he decided to strike out on his own with half a candy bar, two dollars and some change, and headed for New York City. With a natural talent, he started singing in Florida when he was 17.

Parr recorded his first single, “I’ll Get By” in 1973. Today a country fan and singer, he was known in the southeast for his version of “For the Good Times” which he recorded in the mid-70’s. For two years, Parr hosted “The Great Smoky Mountain Revue”, a TV variety show. As Host, Parr’s fresh approach and inimitable manner became a TV standard in the south until the late 70’s.

Little did he know at the time the devil was plotting the course for his life over the next 26 years and the total destruction and death of his soul. READ MORE... Go to www.thenashvillescout.com. I encourage you to spend time in prayer thinking and praying about where home will be for you. These song are songs that have led me to wanting the comfort of knowing that although I spent so many years living for the devil, I will now spend the rest of my life living with the Lord Jesus. Many of these songs have touched your heart for years and many will put a little pep in your step as you head out on your journey to the place where you too can call home. While many have said I sound like a cross between Elvis and Jimmy Swaggart,
I think I only sound like me. But if you want some truely annointed music that will encourage and touch your soul and let you know that the Lord is going to lift you up, this is it. Many have told me that the song 'Holy Ghost Feeling' is one that stays with them during times of need, and "I Wasn't Even There" is one that assures them that God is there for you.  So thanks, and let these songs bring you the joy of the journey.
