ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Pipe Dreams was the product of a chance meeting of 2 musicians in Berlin, Germany: Rick Derman, an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and Derek Ballard, a seasoned British rock drummer. When Derek first heard a demo of "Somewhere" from the album, all he could say was "so simple and so effective!". He was sold! Thus began a 4 year musical partnership which resulted in the Pipe Dreams album. Rick sang all lead and backing vocals and played all guitars and keyboards. (additional guitar on "Psychotic Reaction" by Jim Voxx. Backing vocals on "Hey Down There" by Hattie St. John). Derek's powerful drumming, creative input and moral support were crucial to the success of the project. Rick is now halfway through his next album and hopes to release it in early 2016.
