Album Notes
Grooving out of the mountains of Appalachia, the irresistible loops of Rick Perdue are coming to move your feet. Bridging the gap between the exciting element of live performance and the complex process of studio production, Rick’s exceptional use of loop pedals create an overwhelming full band sound. Rick has developed his own unique interpretation of dance music by combining his background in percussion and guitar with his almost unfathomable vocal range.

Born in Charleston, West Virginia, Rick got his first taste of music in junior high school. At the age of 12, his mother informed him he was joining the school band. Since guitar was not an option, Rick chose to play the drums. A few years later at 15, a friend introduced him to the guitar. When Rick played his parents the first few songs he had learned, they immediately recognized his passion and signed him up for guitar lessons. Little did they know the passion they saw Rick exhibit was nothing compared to what it would one day become.

During his studies, Rick was constantly involved in various music projects. These undertakings lead Rick to being involved in live performances throughout the eastern US as well as a few shows in Canada. Liquid Harvest, one of the many bands Rick has been involved with, was included on the 2006 Official Grammy Ballot in 7 different categories including Best Rock Instrumental for their song “Umbrella.”

Through the course of his career, Rick has shared the stage with countless established musicians across numerous genres. Artists that Rick has opened up for or shared the bill with include: Acoustic Syndicate, The Recipe, Keller Williams, Zach Deputy, That 1 Guy, Peter Tork of The Monkees, Carl Carlton, Larry Keel and Natural Bridge, Jazzam, Fletcher’s Grove, Bob Thompson, Shayar and Krooshal Force, and Ryan Kennedy. Combining these on stage experiences with influences like Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Steve Kimock, Gotye, and Jimi Hendrix, Rick invented his own musical identity while becoming one of West Virginia’s most renowned musicians.

In November 2013, Rick won the inaugural West Virginia’s Got Talent. The event was hosted by DJ Woody Woods and Say Uncle Entertainment. This was a unique opportunity for Rick as the judge’s panel included the CEO of Palm Tree Entertainment, Miami Mike; the CEO of Core DJ’s, Tony Neal; Lil’ Dorian, Brandy and RAY-J’s manager, and CEO of SG Music Marketing, Steve Gordon. Performing in this competition essentially meant an audition in front of all of these industry professionals. Not only did Rick win this competition, but it leads to Miami Mike of Palm Tree Entertainment signing on to manage him a few months later.

Now residing in Nashville, Tennessee, Rick is diving headfirst into this new opportunity. Grateful for everything he’s experienced in the past, he is looking forward to what the future will bring. Working alongside his managers Miami Mike and Robert Mullins, Rick has far more in store for the world. But from the age of 12 until the end of his days, Rick says he will always stand by three words, “Love. Music. Life.”
