Album Notes
Rick Pickren is a singer-songwriter and actor. He has released many critically acclaimed CDs including the western Americana albums: Songs From The Lonesome Prairie, More Songs From The Lonesome Prairie, Rails, Rogues & Wrecks and The Good Gone Days.

Pale Moon On The Prairie is Rick's newest CD release. It contains nine of his original
songs including three written with lyricist Dennis Goodwin. Also featured is the classic
My Rifle, My Pony and Me from the film Rio Bravo, two songs by Jimmie Driftwood, a rarely heard Bob Nolan song and A Cowboy Needs A Horse originally sung by Roy Rogers in a 1956 Disney cartoon.

During his performing career, Rick has shared the stage with George Strait, Merle Haggard, Alabama, The Judds, Dolly Parton, Joe Ely, Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell,
B.J. Thomas and cowboy poet Waddie Mitchell.

As an actor, Rick is featured in the films, Major League, While You Were Sleeping, Soul Survivors and U.S. Marshals. He has also guest starred on many TV shows including
Jack and Mike, Sable, The Untouchables, ER, Early Edition, Missing Persons, Turks,
Chicago PD, Chicago Fire and Empire.

Recently, his recording of Go! Mississippi was featured in the PBS American Experience documentary Freedom Summer. In January 2016, Rick’s recording of The Song of Iowa was featured in the season premiere of The Good Wife.
