I fell in love with playing Christmas music just a few years ago while performing around Memphis, Tennessee for an organization I’m affiliated with called Creative Aging (also based in my home town Cincinnati, Ohio)- they bring music to senior citizens, and I am proud to have been on their artist roster for over the past fifteen years. Before I went on this mission I set out to commit a repertoire of holiday tunes to memory, rather than reading and playing them poorly from an old “big note” children’s songbook as I had done in the past. After playing twelve one hour programs over the course of three days, these tunes really stuck in my head- that’s when I could own them and make this music a part of me. What you’ll hear on this recording is a variety of secular and spiritual numbers that I hope you’ll enjoy.

Happy Holidays to you and yours,

Ricky Nye
