Album Notes
A Road Less Traveled is a collection - an instrumental "cycle of songs without words".

The recording would generally be classified as Contemporary Jazz, yet there is an almost Chamber Music approach to the disc on whole, as the focus of instruments changes from song to song.

The entire album was recorded with live instruments, evoking a presence for the listener, as if the Music was being performed in the room, just for them.

Interspersed with Ric's melodic and emotive Piano leads are soaring Trumpet lines, fluid Saxophone riffs, and searing Guitar solos.

Although the piano is clearly in focus, the emphasis and colors shift throughout the recording.

Each of the Songs is a slice of life, portraying humanistic moods and emotions.

The overall effect of the album is rather personal and contemplative.

The resultant blend is an Album, meant to be listened through in its entirety, offering an eclectic ambience of beautiful imagery and moods.

A Road Less Traveled
I should have done this a long time ago. This CD is excellent! It is varied and lacks, thankfully, that all tracks sound the same "un-quality". It is definitly musical jazz but with a tinge of R&R. I like that about it. It has some great guitar that has a little grit. Ric is a very talented artist and I know a full CD of great music takes time to produce but I hope this is not the only CD we are blessed by him with. He has too much to offer. Ric, we emailed in the past and I seem to recall that a new CD was in the works. I really hope that you grace us with it. You are a real talent. Thanks again for A Road Less Traveled, one of my all-time favorites!!
